Breastfeeding Awareness Celebrated at SKS Nursing College with Street Play and Poster Competition

In a vibrant initiative aimed at promoting maternal and child health, the Dr. Sarvesh Kumar Shukla Group of Institutions, located in Sablapur on the Bahraich-Sitapur Road, celebrated World Breastfeeding Week with great enthusiasm and educational spirit.
The event featured a powerful combination of street plays and a poster-making competition, highlighting the health benefits of breastfeeding. The celebrations began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and worship of Maa Saraswati, symbolizing knowledge and well-being.
The program was graced by Dr. Sangeeta Mehta, a respected gynecologist, as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized that mother’s milk is a complete food for infants, rich in essential nutrients and natural immunity boosters.
“Breast milk is not only the best nutrition but also the first line of defense against diseases. It should be given exclusively for the first six months—without even water,”
She also pointed out that milk produced within the first 30 minutes of birth is most beneficial for newborns.
Director Pallavi Shukla also addressed the event and highlighted the importance of spreading awareness regarding breastfeeding at both institutional and community levels.
Creative Talent on Display
A poster-making competition saw active participation from students of B.Sc. Nursing and GNM.

- Zeba secured the second position
- Other participants included Princy Verma, Pooja, and Jyoti, whose creative efforts were widely appreciated.
The street play performed by students creatively portrayed the health benefits of breastfeeding and the myths surrounding it, leaving a strong impression on the audience.

The program was conducted smoothly under the coordination of teacher Pratigya Pathak. The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries and staff, including: Manager Aastha Shukla, Nursing Principal Harish Nagar, Alok Shukla, Phoolchand Davariya, Rahul Srivastava, Chandan Sharma, Mohammad Ashraf, Pushpendra Tiwari, Sushma Giri, Soumya Singh, Anchal Singh, Kirti Mishra, Madhu Upadhyay, Sangeeta Pal, Isha Verma, Farhat Khan, Lavisha Prajapati, and many others.
The program concluded on a high note, encouraging the future health professionals to continue advocating for essential health practices like breastfeeding within society.
