Bahraich, February 10 — The annual sports festival at Kisan Post Graduate College turned into a vibrant celebration of talent, discipline, and youthful energy on Tuesday, with students captivating the audience through spectacular displays of Taekwondo, Yoga, and a traditional Saraswati Vandana.
The event was inaugurated jointly by BJP District President Brijesh Pandey, College Management Committee Secretary Major Dr. S.P. Singh, Management Committee Member and Provincial Athlete Ajit Pratap Singh (also Block Pramukh of Huzoorpur), and Principal Professor Vinay Saxena.
The programme commenced with a soulful Saraswati Vandana, setting a reverent tone. This was followed by breathtaking performances in Yoga and Taekwondo, where students demonstrated remarkable flexibility, strength, precision, and awe-inspiring stunts that left spectators spellbound.
Athletic events took centre stage next, featuring spirited races in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 1600m categories. The track witnessed enthusiastic participation from the youth, showcasing speed, stamina, and competitive spirit.
Sports In-charge Pankaj Singh informed that a total of 345 students actively participated in the competitions.
Addressing the gathering, BJP District President Brijesh Pandey, an alumnus of the college, shared nostalgic memories. “Watching the young students run on the track today reminded me of my own student days here,” he said, expressing pride in the institution’s continued focus on holistic development.
Ajit Pratap Singh, a member of the management committee, emphasised that such sports festivals play a crucial role in polishing the hidden sporting talents among students. Major Dr. S.P. Singh, Secretary of the Management Committee, highlighted the importance of balancing academics with sports. “Along with studies, efforts must be made to hone students’ sporting abilities. This keeps both body and mind healthy,” he noted.
The event drew a distinguished audience, including Lieutenant Suryabhan Rawat, BJP General Secretary Raghavendra Pratap Singh, District Minister Dimple Jain, Chief Proctor Dr. Kisunveer, Assistant Professors Anupam Kumar Singh, Rajkumar Singh, Dr. Anand Srivastava, Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Dr. Ajay Pratap Singh, Dr. Tasneem Fatima Zaidi, Savita Verma, Devendra Pratap Singh, Dr. Santosh Singh, Dr. Ram Badan Verma, Jitendra Maurya, Dinesh Shukla, and many others.
